KOHÁN METHOD

Kohán Method is a new private education system based in Japan founded by the clarinet soloist KOHÁN. We put the music education into a realistic environment, with regular Class Concerts and deep education about stressless playing.

We work with more teachers for the successful result. One main teacher who deeply involve you into the secrets of playing the clarinet and one more secondary teacher who keeps the same values and helps with your practice.

I always had the sense to see the easy good way how to solve any problem in clarinet playing maybe because as a student I made amazingly huge effort to develop my skills. I created KOHÁN METHOD to give to the young generation the best chance to play easily their instrument. I believe in my system, because my system is to not to have a system. Because every person is unique and we all need different treatment and different education. We care about our students to find the best personal way to reach their goals. KOHÁN

MEETING (FIRST LESSON)

First we meet together with the student and possibly the parent (if the student is still under 18). We listen his/her playing and we create an action plan for what we want to reach and we put it into a time schedule. It's very important to have a clear goal and a clear plan to reach confidence.

Why the meeting?

50% of newly created companies usually fail in the first year. The reason is the lack of written plan. If we don't know what we want to reach and until when we want to reach it's easy to fail. In our system we create very exact and detailed yearly plan what we try to reach together. This is not a pressure only a goal. We create this plan up to the student after listening his/her skills.

We also discuss about the lesson's possible locations and which teacher how many lessons will give.

LESSON

We give you the tools how to play the clarinet easily. To play an instrument well it's not magic and not difficult only you have to understand the mechanism of how it works. This is the same for technical and musical things too.

Basically the lesson time is only a few percent of your practicing time. Instead of telling you a few things what maybe also not easy to understand, our education is focusing on how to make you understand how you can learn effectively by yourself. We show you the good methodical way and we also tech you how you can do it by yourself. 

In an average education system always the problem starts when the pupil leaves the classroom. When the student can't see the relations between the work and result in other words when we can't continue by ourselves the same work what we did on the lesson the development can't be permanent. Our goal is to make our students develop lesson by lesson because this is the only way of feeling confident.

We believe that good music and instrument control only can come from confident person. Let's work together on how to loose all your worry and feel successful then music can freely flow.

DUAL TEACHER SYSTEM

Let's talk about the psychology of a music lesson. If the student visits his/her teacher every week, it's quite easy to lose the motivation of preparing for the lesson, because this becomes a habit and not a goal. If we practice for a masterclass we do great effort to play our best because we don't pay for hearing something what we can already notice by ourselves. Normal music lesson should have the same motivation but if we go every week we feel it like any school lesson. We work with two teachers. One is the main teacher (Mr. Kohán himself) who holds the lesson more like a masterclass, giving strong impressions to the student, leading him/her to the right way of playing. These lessons have big impact and the student feels also bigger responsibility. The second teacher (Ms. Yuka Nozaki) graduated at Tokyo College of Music from Mr. Kohán's class so she has the same image and value about playing the clarinet. She can help the student to keep developing with good practice like a personal coach.

This system can give our students a full support for personal development.

CLASS CONCERT

To try yourself is the most important. How you could be a player, an artist if you never or rarely try to play front of people.

The class concert is will be held every two months. It's a two day event. Saturday we make a rehearsal with a pianist and Sunday we have a concert. The rehearsal is not only a clarinet lesson, but a way to learn how you can rehearse effectively. Rehearsal and concert both happens front of everyone like a group lesson. Through these regular events we can easily get used to how to play and keep control front of people. For this event anyone can join from outside of KM too. Feel free to join us and try yourself.

音大受験生

受験生のレッスンは、入試までにどのように準備をするか、その計画を立てる上での責任は大きく、とても重要です。

練習する曲目も多く、また演奏以外の試験(ソルフェージュやピアノ等)のスキルの準備も必要です。

 

僕は入試の時に何度も受験生を見てきましたが、入試のための曲は本当に上手に演奏できていても、入学をしてから基礎的な部分ができていない子も多くいました。

入試の曲のための練習しかできていないということですね。そうすると、入学をした後も、とても苦労することになります。

だから、十分な時間をかけて準備をするためにも、できれば高校1年生、もしくはもっと早い段階から準備をする方が良いと思います。

また、すでに音楽家になりたいという目標を持っているのなら、出来る限り早く、厳しく練習をした方が良いです。

10代は、一番成長しやすい時期です。

だからこそ、先生2人によるレッスン体制で行います。

メインのコハーンのレッスン、そして、そのレッスンに向けて、適した練習方法を教える野崎由佳のレッスンを行うことが、より効果的に実力を向上させるために、非常に大切となってきます。
